Sectional: Mt. Vernon draws bye; North Posey to face So. Spencer | Sports & Recreation

Mt. Vernon's boys basketball team drew a bye in the IHSAA Sectional pairings on Sunday night.  The Wildcats will play Friday, March 1 against the winner of next Tuesday night's Gibson Southern-Boonville game.

Here's the schedule:

Class 3A

32. Boonville (6) (Tuesday/Friday/Saturday)
Game 1: Princeton vs. Evansville Memorial (Tuesday)
Game 2: Gibson Southern vs. Boonville (Tuesday)
Game 3: Evansville Bosse vs. Winner of Game 1.
Game 4: Mt. Vernon vs. Winner of Game 2.
Championship: Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 4.

In Class 2A, North Posey meets South Spencer at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27.  That's a first round matchup in a seven-team sectional.

48. Southridge (7) (Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday/Saturday)
Game 1: Perry Central vs. Tell City (Tuesday).
Game 2: Forest Park vs. Evansville Mater Dei (Wednesday)
Game 3: South Spencer vs. North Posey. (Wednesday)
Game 4: Southridge vs. Winner of Game 1.
Game 5: Winner of Game 2 vs. Winner of Game 3.
Championship: Winner of Game 4 vs. Winner of Game 5.
