News

POSEY CO., IN (WFIE)- Indiana State Police and Posey County Sheriff's Office conducted a
sobriety checkpoint on SR 62 at Plaza Drive between midnight and 2:00 Saturday
morning.

During the two hour period, officers checked 61 drivers that passed
through the checkpoint and didn't find any impaired drivers. One driver was administered a field sobriety
test and passed.

Troopers did issue
seven traffic warnings and one traffic ticket during the checkpoint.

Indiana State Police say they are committed to traffic safety and will continue to
conduct saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints to apprehend impaired
drivers and to deter others from drinking and driving.
